Barbecue Sauce - Traditional Braai Spice
Be Spice Inspired
“Braai” is the South African word for barbecue and is a treasured national pastime. This perfect blend of spice is integral to any braai master. The traditional spice mix has a warm woody aroma and spicy flavour which is perfect for seasoning any meat suitable for grilling. Atlantic Smoked salt gives its finishing touch.
Mix together all ingredients for the sauce except the sherry and Atlantic Smoked salt.
Simmer for 30 minutes to blend flavours well then add the sherry during the last 5 minutes.
A ‘bastes’ prime function is to moisten the meat while it is being barbecued and at the same time give it a particular flavour. Season meat with Atlantic Smoke Salt after first basting, giving the finishing touch.
Baste the meat on a regular basis while grilling over hot flames, turning the meat frequently.
Enjoy the smell of your BBQ!
